Library Christmas

Tonight we went to the library with the kids for their Christmas activity. They read Christmas stories, sat on Santa's lap, and made cute little penguins out of socks! It wasn't very long, but it was sure something to do on a cold night. Mason spent the time on the computer there playing games, so he isn't in the pictures!

Camera was running out of batteries, and this was the one shot I had!
Not bad!
Listening to "Fancy Nancy" Splendifeorus Christmas.
Reading "Purplicious" before bed!
I am surprised I didn't have to read "Pinkalicious" and "Goldalicious" too!
She must have been tired!

Some really cute things that the kids have said lately:

Brooklyn: "What happened to that guys foot? Why does he have crotches?" (Crutches)
Maddy: "Are you cold?' I replied that I was. "Me too. Best friends are both cold." I love it when she tells me we are best friends! Also, she says, "elf is, fork is, knife is," for all things plural instead of elves, forks, knives.

Christmas with the Allens....

We had two big Allen Christmas parties this week, since Dave's side of the family is so big! We had the immediate family (21 people) to our house on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. Good food, good gifts, good ping pong tournament (James won the tourney). On Monday we had the Moseley party (Dave's Mom's Side of the family) at Mom and Dad Allen's house, and there were too many people to count! The kids had a lot of fun playing with their second cousins. Can you believe that Dave has a first cousin the same age as one of his own kids? Crazy young families! It was a very fun filled party week!

Brooklyn, Aunt Lindsay and Grandma Jones
Christian attacked his sugar cookie and has frosting face to prove it!
Meieli and Brett

All of the grandkids watching the train go around the "White House" tree.Dave and I were getting dressed and we came out to find
the kids dancing together in the kitchen!

Gibson and baby Brett giving each other some loves.
Gibson is only 14 months but will sign "Baby" to Brett! How cute!
Grandpa is asleep, so Brett is making a mad dash towards the tree!
Dave and Gibson. Such a sweet boy!

First Sledding Adventure of the Year

By Saturday we finally had enough snow to go sledding! Snow, cold, winter, ice, etc. are not my favorite things. Now that I have lived in Rexburg for 2 years, I have significantly decreased my amount of complaining, since cold and snow are inevitable here. Dave and I have snow gear now, so we are much more equipped to sled with the kids. This year is really easy because everyone can walk up the hill on their own! Yea! It really was fun, and I always enjoy coming home to my warm house.

Ready for take off
Taking a break for snow angels.
We let all for of them go down together.
Probably not the smartest parenting moment.

Sugar Cookie Caos...

On Friday night we cut out and decorated 2 dozen sugar cookies! Mason was at a party, so he missed out, but we sure had fun and made a HUGE mess!

There can never be too many sprinkles!
Supervising the mess
Maybe enjoying this cookie too much.
Maddy had more frosting on her than the cookie!

Look at those sprinkles! (Right after this picture she fell off the stool really hard and was in tears! Poor girl!)
Dad's always stealing a bite!

No longer a blonde....

I had my hair colored back to my natural color today for easier maintenance. I have known for quite a while, but I am sad to say that I am no longer blonde. Not even the slightest bit! These are for Mom, Kate and Jen!

Annivesary Surprise

Our 2nd anniversary is on Monday, the 14th, but we have a ton of stuff going on all around that day. It's kinda funny because both Dave and I always think that it is the 17th for some reason. At least we are both wrong and on the same page! So, last night, we didn't have the kids, and Dave and I went down to Idaho Falls to do some shopping. We grabbed Bajios takeout (our favorite) and we went home to enjoy our evening. When we walked in the door, this is what I found! Candles, roses, sparkling cider, all set up by my husband! With the help of Mom and Dad, he went through a lot of work to celebrate our anniversary! It was so sweet and I was proud of him for thinking about it so far in advance! After dinner we went to a movie and relaxed by our fireplace. It was such a wonderful night, just like the past two years have been! Here's to many more!

Other random things...

Just in case Jen was wondering, the Christmas present (dress up box) from last year is STILL a big success. This is how we find Dawson and Maddy almost every day!Maddy loves our new "pink-pong" table from New Grandma and Z! Dave serves her the ball and she whacks it as hard as she can! Both she and I need to work on our finesse! Dawson will ask us, "Can you play ping pong table with me?" I love it!

Coolest gift idea ever: Grandma and Z recorded their voices reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas". The kids love it! Thanks!
